Our commitment

The Downtown Exchange aims for this website and its vendor sites to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we review the sites as they change.

What we’ve done

• Semantic page structure with headings, landmarks and a “Skip to content” link.
• Every function works with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Form fields have visible labels, and form results are announced to assistive technology.
• Animation and background video are paused or removed when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Videos load only when you choose to play them.
• Menus are written as real text, with printable PDF versions where vendors provide them.

Known limitations

Some content comes from third parties — embedded maps, YouTube videos, social media and online ordering or delivery sites — which we don’t control. Some older vendor PDF menus may not be fully accessible; the same menu is available as text on each vendor’s site, or call the vendor for help.

In the building

All of our food vendors are on the ground level. Our 2nd and 3rd floor coworking and meeting spaces are currently reached only by stairs. Service animals are welcome.
